Pesticides are designed to disrupt or kill living organisms. They are not all chemically identical, but some can affect the nervous or endocrine systems. Children have developing brains and bodies, spend time close to floors and fields, and may receive more exposure relative to their size.

Ask whether your school uses Integrated Pest Management—controlling food, moisture and entry points before reaching automatically for broad pesticide spraying.
