Hearing damage can happen before a child realizes anything is wrong. Loud sound can injure the delicate structures and nerve fibers of the inner ear, and noise-induced hearing loss cannot usually be medically or surgically reversed. Volume and listening time matter.
Turn the volume down, use device volume limits and give ears quiet breaks. If others can hear the earbuds from nearby, they are probably too loud.
“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” — Matthew 11:15
Thank God for hearing and ask for wisdom to protect it before damage occurs.
