“Fresh scent” does not necessarily mean fresh air. Air fresheners can release volatile organic compounds. Depending on the chemical, concentration and exposure time, VOCs can cause airway irritation, headaches and dizziness; higher or prolonged exposures to certain VOCs can damage the central nervous system, liver or kidneys.
Don’t mask stale classroom air with fragrance. Remove the odor source and improve ventilation whenever possible.
