Natural Focus
Drugs do not always look like drugs. THC edibles can resemble ordinary gummies and popular candy closely enough that a child may not recognize the difference. This happened in Miami Gardens in 2023, when a 9-year-old girl was hospitalized after eating what she believed was Airheads-style candy given to her by another student. Testing confirmed cannabis exposure.
Tip of the Day
Teach your child not to eat unfamiliar candy, gummies, baked goods or snacks given to them by another student. Ask specifically whether children exchange candy or gummies at school. If something unfamiliar comes home, check the entire package for THC, cannabis symbols, dosage information or altered branding before allowing anyone to eat it. If your child becomes unusually sleepy, confused, dizzy or has difficulty walking after eating something unknown, seek help promptly.

Prayer Suggestion
Ask God for wisdom to recognize dangers that may be disguised as something harmless and for protection over your children wherever they go.
