Closing a classroom does not keep pollution out—it can trap pollution in. Without enough outdoor-air exchange, contaminants from cleaning products, markers, furnishings, mold, dust and people can accumulate indoors. Good ventilation is a basic part of healthy school air.
Ask whether classrooms have functioning ventilation and whether filters and HVAC systems are maintained. Fresh-air exchange matters.
